Stage Kids Classes

Theater fun starts here!

Stage Kids WA (SKWA) Musical Theater Classes include drama, music and choreography. Learn from experienced teachers and performers while having FUN!

Our musical theater classes are focused on skill-development, not performance. They are not just for performers but for any child who wants to explore performing arts. Your child will learn how to express him or herself, gaining poise and self-confidence.  We encourage creativity and imagination!

In order to be eligible for an elective class, you must first have completed Musical Theater 1 and Musical Theater 2 classes.

Each session (Fall and Spring) SKWA offers 4, 6, 7, or 8 week theater arts classes to children & youth grades Kinder-8. These 30, 60, 75, or 90 minute after-school classes will be held at the Numerica Performing Arts Center (PAC). During the final week of classes, students will display a portion of what they've learned by participating in a “Class Act” for their families.

*Need financial assistance? We offer scholarships for up to 50% off tuition cost to qualifying applicants. Applications for the fall season will open on July 2, 2018.

Teen apprenticeship Program

Stage Kids is seeking mature teens with a commitment to learning theater-craft.

Students must commit to 3 to 12 weeks at a time, depending on project. Interns need to be available for all rehearsals and performances during the chosen time.

Through its apprentice program, Stage Kids WA (SKWA) cultivates the next generation of theater professionals. We accomplish this through hands-on experience in all of the different facets of producing live theater by interacting with directors and technicians.
Apprentices observe and work with SKWA instructors and theatre professionals. Teen apprentices have the opportunity to teach & assist performance companies of children in drama, dance and voice classes / rehearsals.

All internships are unpaid. Interns must arrange for their own transportation.

“Class Act”
Showcase Information

Theater is an art form, so change and evolution is encouraged! At Stage Kids, we are growing and developing new ways to meet the needs of our students, families and community.

Our “Class Act” is an opportunity for kids to share what they’ve been learning in their classes. With over 100 students attending this spring, we will have more time for each class to share by having the friends and family attend on the final evening of each class rather than everyone coming together for one huge event.

Please note your child’s last day of class, then mark your calendar to attend from 5:00-5:45pm so they can show you what they’re learning (subject to change)!

Stage Kids Shows

Come see a Show Or join the cast!

Stage Kids shows are called Spotlight Productions—performed every year during spring and fall. Spotlight Productions are always appropriate for your entire family and are an excellent way to introduce your children to the arts at a young age!

Students (Grade 3-8) who are enrolled in classes are eligible to register to be in a Broadway-style musical! Everyone who registers is cast in our shows, but space is limited.

*Need financial assistance?  We offer scholarships for up to 50% off tuition cost to qualifying applicants. We have EXTENDED the application period through JUNE 1, 2018.

To apply:

  • Register your child for the program (pay 50% of the tuition fee plus registration fees).

Disney's Beauty and the beast Jr.

Based on the original Broadway production that ran for over thirteen years and was nominated for nine Tony Awards, and the Academy Award-winning motion picture, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast JR. is a fantastic adaptation of the story of transformation and tolerance.  Disney’s Beauty and the Beast JR. features some of the most popular songs ever written by Alan Menken and the late Howard Ashman, along with new songs by Mr. Menken and Tim Rice.

The classic story tells of Belle, a young woman in a provincial town, and the Beast, who is really a young prince trapped under the spell of an enchantress. If the Beast can learn to love and be loved, the curse will end and he will be transformed to his former self. But time is running out. If the Beast does not learn his lesson soon, he and his household will be doomed for all eternity.
