Stage Kids Classes

Theater fun starts here!

HELLO, STAGE KIDS FAMILY AND NEW FRIENDS! WE HAVE ANOTHER ROUND OF AWESOME CLASSES TO KEEP YOUR CHILD LEARNING, GROWING, AND LAUGHING THIS Year!

Confidence. Humility. Teamwork. Responsibility. Creativity! Theater skills are life skills delivered in an incredibly fun, engaging, age-appropriate way. Whether your child already loves singing, dancing, and acting, or could just use an opportunity to explore who they are and make new friends in a positive environment, Stage Kids classes are a great way to keep your child growing and laughing this year!

Stage Kids is an educational theater program that focuses on developing character. We see the value of having children develop skills in classes in addition to participating in shows. For this reason, simultaneous enrollment in a class is required while in the cast of a show. Stage Kids knows that kids grow in confidence when they grow in skills!

Fall Class Registration Opens July 14 at 6pm!

The scholarship deadline for Fall Classes is July 31. Award notifications will be sent August 7.

Class Details:

Class details may have been recently updated. Please review class information carefully before registering.

Questions? Email info@stagekidswa.org or call 509-663-6996 ext. 15

  • WHEN DO SPRING CLASSES OPEN? Registration for Spring classes will open on February 10 at 6pm. Some classes fill fast, so we recommend you register early!
  • WHERE DO I START? If your child is new to Stage Kids classes, they'll want to take our core class, Intro to Theater-1. The next season, they would enroll in Intro to Theater-2. Even if your child doesn't want to be on stage, these core classes ensure all Stage Kids have the same basic theater knowledge, skills, and vocabulary. These two core classes are prerequisites for most elective courses.
  • DO I NEED TO COMPLETE INTRO TO THEATER-1 & -2 BEFORE I CAN BE IN A SHOW?  No—kids can participate in a show WHILE enrolled in a core class. In other words, even if it’s your child's first time at Stage Kids, they could take Intro to Theater-1 AND be in the show at the same time! We offer Intro to Theater-1 on Mondays and Intro to Theater-2 on Tuesdays so core classes can be taken the hour before show rehearsal time.

Class/Workshop  Attendance Policy

Education is the core of Stage Kids’ programs—this is where kids develop most! Participation in a Stage Kids class is, therefore, a REQUIREMENT for participating in a show. Intro to Theater -1 (ITT-1) & Intro to Theater -2 (ITT-2) must be taken first. (Simultaneous participation in a show and a core class is allowed.)

  • For ALL students who take ITT-1 & ITT-2, no more than TWO (2) classes can be missed throughout the duration of the class session in order to fulfill the core class requirement and earn eligibility to take elective classes in the future. If a student takes ITT-1 or ITT-2 and misses more than 2 classes during the session, they must retake the class at a future date.
  • For show participants only, no more than TWO (2) classes can be missed throughout the duration of ANY class session in order to fulfill the class requirement for show participation. If more than two classes are missed, your child's eligibility for future shows may be impacted.
  • For show participants only, attendance on BOTH days of the workshops is required in order to fulfill the class requirement for show participation. If one or both workshop days are missed your child’s eligibility for future shows may be impacted.

Independent Instruction

Stage Kids partners with great private vocal instructors to offer one-on-one training. In order to have your child's independent voice instruction satisfy the class requirement for participation in a Spotlight Production, please follow these steps:

Step 1: Register using the link below. Cost: $26 (This registration alone does not enroll your child for private voice lessons.)
Independent Instruction
Step 2: Arrange private vocal lessons with a vocal instructor of your choice.  (You will need to ensure that your child completes 8 separate 30-minute lessons over the course of the assigned 8 weeks.)

Step 3: Submit the Independent Private Instructor Form (which you will receive in the confirmation email after registration). This form must be filled out by the vocal instructor when the 8 weeks of lessons have been completed. Once the form is complete, please email it to info@stagekidswa.org or mail to Emi England, PO 1794, Wenatchee, WA 98807.

(We will accept a maximum of 6 independent instruction students per season.)

*Prerequisite: Intro to Theater-1 and Intro to Theater-2

Affiliate Instruction

Stage Kids partners with Miss Becca Allen of The Next Step Dance Studio in Cashmere to offer advanced dance class instruction. In order to have your child's affiliate dance instruction satisfy the class requirement for participation in a Spotlight Production, please follow these steps:

Step 1: Register using the link below. Cost: $26 (This registration alone does not enroll your child for affiliate dance classes at The Next Step Dance Studio.)

Affiliate Instruction
Step 2: Visit The Next Step Dance Studio website to register your performer for the advanced dance class of your choice. (You will need to ensure that your child attends all classes in the selected session. Miss Becca will need to verify your performer's attendance on the form referred to in Step 3 [below]).

Step 3: Submit the Affiliate Instructor Form (which you will receive in the confirmation email after registration). This form must be filled out by Miss Becca when the dance session is complete. Once the form is complete, please email it to info@stagekidswa.org or mail to Emi England, PO 1794, Wenatchee, WA 98807.

(We will accept a maximum of affiliate dance instruction students per season.)

PLEASE NOTE: AT THIS TIME WE ARE NOT PARTNERING WITH OTHER DANCE STUDIOS. This is the first time we have partnered with an independent dance studio. We appreciate your patience during this trial period.

*Prerequisite: Intro to Theater-1 and Intro to Theater-2

Stage Kids Shows

Come see a Show Or join the cast!

Hello, Stage Kids family and new friends! Below you will find information on current and upcoming shows to keep your child learning, growing, and laughing this year!

Confidence. Humility. Teamwork. Responsibility. Creativity. Empathy. Joy! Theater skills are life skills delivered in an incredibly fun, engaging, age-appropriate way. Whether your child already loves singing, dancing, and acting, or could just use an opportunity to explore who they are and make new friends in a positive environment, Stage Kids shows are a great way to keep your kiddo growing and laughing this year!

Stage Kids is an educational theater program that focuses on developing character. We see the value of having children develop skills in classes in addition to participating in shows. For this reason, simultaneous enrollment in a class is required while in the cast of a show. Stage Kids knows that kids grow in confidence when they grow in skills!

We've made some exciting changes to accommodate the demand for our Stage Kids programs! Please check out the links below for answers to questions you may have, or for help determining which programs your kids could sign up for. We hope this helps!

Scholarships

We want every child to have the chance to experience the life-giving power of musical theater, so as we are able, we offer scholarships to cover a portion of program registration fees (between 10% - 70%) based on a family's financial need.

To apply for a scholarship you must first register your child(ren) and pay the deposit, then look for the link to apply for a scholarship in your confirmation email! The scholarship deadline for Summer Camps is April 3. Award notifications will be sent by April 10.

TEEN MUSICAL THEATER WORKSHOP

We're thrilled to offer a musical theater workshop designed just for teens and led by Stage Kids alumna Isa Arredondo!

Isa has been part of the Stage Kids family for the past seven years, serving in a variety of roles. Many will remember her outstanding choreography for our Stage Teens productions of The Lion King and Newsies. Isa recently graduated with a BFA in Acting from Savannah College of Art and Design, and we are delighted to welcome her back for one final summer with Stage Kids!

During this engaging two-day intensive, students will explore advanced acting techniques inspired by Hagen, Meisner, and Stanislavski. Through script and scene analysis, they will deepen their performance skills and apply these techniques to scenes and advanced choreography.

*Note: participants are asked to prepare 32 bars (memorized) from any age-appropriate musical theater song of their choosing.

This is a unique opportunity for teens to train with a talented young professional and former Stage Kids artist. Whether you're new to acting or looking to strengthen your performance skills, this intensive will challenge, inspire, and help you grow as a performer.
